Homemade Caramel Brûlée Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 C Granulated Sugar
- 1/4 C Hot Water
- 6 Tbsp Salted Butter
- 1/2 C Heavy Whipping Cream
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- pinch Salt
Instructions
- start off by adding 1 cup of white sugar to a pot
- toast the sugar on medium heat until it because an amber color + lower the heat and add in 1/4 cup hot water (if you use cold water the sugar will seize and crystallize) – if there are some crystals you can add in an additional 1/4 cup hot water
- once the sugar is melted add in 6 tosp salted butter and mix until the butter is melted
- remove the sauce from the heat and add in 1/2 cup heavy cream, 1 tsp vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt
- mix and pour into a container
